Vascular Surgery

Vascular surgeons provide diagnostic evaluation and surgical treatment of peripheral vascular diseases, both venous and arterial, such as stroke prevention, limb salvage (upper and lower extremities), aortic and extra anatomic bypasses and many others. The vascular surgeons on the medical staff at Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital perform advanced procedures such as:

• Carotid Endartectomy
• Carotid Stenting
• Complex renal vascular surgery
• Complex extracranial cerebrovascular surgery (i.e., vertebral)
• Complex aneurysm surgery

Surgeons on the medical staff at Baylor have been leaders in the region in the development of endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms, which is minimally invasive, requires less recuperation time and has fewer complications.
