Non-Invasive Cardiology
To diagnose and treat heart and vascular conditions, the specialists at Baylor's Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology services use innovative methods and technologies.
One treatment technique uses a special heart monitor called a Holter monitor, an electrocardiography (ECG) recorder that continuously registers the heart's electrical activity. Patients can wear the monitor during normal daily activities, and the monitor records in a diary any symptoms and the date and time they occurred.
Other non-invasive services provided by Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital include:
- Stress, nuclear and echocardiographic testing
- Treadmill stress testing
- Two-dimensional and Doppler echocardiography (with treadmill or pharmacological stress)
- Carotid Doppler
- Venous Doppler
- Arterial Doppler (with treadmill stress)
- Transesophageal echocardiography
