Caring Hearts® Volunteers
Heart surgery can be a frightening experience for patients and their families. Baylor's team of Caring Hearts volunteers help ease the trauma of heart procedures and recovery. These caring friends have experienced heart surgery either personally or with a family member. As veterans of the war against heart disease, they serve as living proof that there is quality of life after heart surgery.
Wire For Life® Volunteers
Baylor has teamed up with past implantable cardio defibrillator (ICD) recipients to provide future ICD recipients with support, comfort and answers to their questions. Volunteers meet with the future recipients and their families before and after the ICD procedure.
New Hearts and Lungs Volunteers
New Hearts and Lungs volunteers are transplant recipients who have received or are awaiting a new heart or lung. Volunteers visit patients before and after their transplantation.
